Ahmad Sawalha re-arrested in Azmut a day after his release
Israeli forces raided Azmut, east of Nablus, early on Saturday, searched the former prisoner's home and re-arrested him, WAFA reported, citing local sources. He had been released the day before.
Israeli forces entered Azmut, a village east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, early on Saturday, Oct. 31, searched the home of Ahmad Sawalha and took him into custody again, local sources told WAFA, the Palestinian news agency.
Sawalha, whom the agency describes as a former prisoner, had been released one day earlier.
Wattan News Agency, also citing local sources, reported the same sequence: the forces raided the village at dawn, entered the freed prisoner's house and re-arrested him, a day after his release. The Palestine News Network reported the same in a roundup of West Bank arrests.
None of the three reports says how long Sawalha had been held before, which prison released him, why he was detained again or where he is held now. None includes a statement from the Israeli army.
